Chapter 29
Shi Yu’s shirt was already wrinkled beyond recognition. Even though the buttons had been fastened again, it still gave off a strong sense of sensuality.
Jiang Shangwan wrapped her arms around his neck. “Look down.”
She threaded the long strip of fabric through his collar and carefully retied his tie. Then, pulling on his tie, she drew him closer. “Even an ordinary white shirt looks so sexy on you.”
Shi Yu’s lips curved slightly. He obediently let her do as she wished, wrapping his arms around her waist. “You’re too thin. You need to eat more.”
“That won’t do.” Jiang Shangwan poked his chest. “I don’t agree.”
So, amid the dim night outside, they had their reckless moment. Shi Yu still found it absurd and unbelievable. He looked at the stain spreading across Jiang Shangwan’s skirt, feeling his ears flush deeply to the bone.
Following his gaze, Jiang Shangwan said meaningfully, “I won’t wash this skirt again. I want to keep it forever. How about that?”
“……”
How mischievous.
Shi Yu took her hand, interlacing his fingers with hers. Unable to let go, he raised one finger after another and kissed them all. “Still avoiding me?”
“No more avoiding.” After her reason was completely swept away, she simply didn’t want to think or worry about those tedious moral constraints anymore. Since he himself said he didn’t mind and they had already crossed the line to get closer, there was no need to retreat. Her body’s actions had already given the hesitant answer.
Jiang Shangwan touched his prominent nose bridge. His brows and eyes were astonishingly handsome, even in the dim corner, she could see the deep contours and sharp jawline clearly. “Your looks seem tailor-made for my aesthetic.”
Shi Yu lowered his eyes and tugged at the corner of his lips. “So, can the master give the little dog an ID tag now?”
“ID tag?” Jiang Shangwan stroked the reddened corner of his eyes. “Lover? Boyfriend? Partner? Spouse?”
Her red lips parted slightly, casually whispering one word after another that tugged at his heart—until he grabbed her palm and said, “I want them all.”
Shi Yu held her tightly, lowering his head to bury it in the soft top of her hair. “So beautiful, it hardly feels real.”
Not long ago, she barely responded to his messages, but tonight, they were almost becoming one.
“Oh?” Jiang Shangwan was slightly annoyed. “You little bad boy, grabbing me and dragging me to a corner, teasing me out here. If you’d been a moment later, we’d already be in the car. We could’ve gone to a hotel and had a proper argument.”
Shi Yu understood her implied meaning. His throat moved slightly as he whispered, “…That soon?”
“What’s on that little brain of yours?” Jiang Shangwan frowned a little. “I meant we could rest at the hotel. It’s a bit chilly with the night breeze out here.”
“I’ll take you home first.”
The driver had been waiting for a long time.
When Jiang Shangwan got into the car, Shi Yu still held her hand, unwilling to let go. Finally, he resigned and leaned aside to get in.
She thought carefully. “Home.”
Shi Yu heard her command, a bit surprised but also hard to hide his happiness.
Instead of going to a hotel, she brought him back to her home.
The sleek, black car slowly stopped in front of the villa.
This was Jiang Shangwan’s first time bringing a man home. Most of her previous boyfriends were from her student days or just after entering society—let alone the short duration of those relationships, the emotional experiences they gave her were not passionate enough to make her want to bring them home.
The decision to bring Shi Yu home was made on a sudden impulse, but he was the first person to ever inspire such an impulse in her.
The villa was decorated in a classic Italian style, with a fully open layout. Coffee-colored furniture was embedded in gray-white walls, creating a perfectly transparent and harmonious aesthetic that matched Shi Yu’s impression of Jiang Shangwan.
At a glance, it was the style she would like—luxurious and boundless in spatial design, with high ceilings and a flat layout that combined simplicity and grandeur with a touch of business elegance.
“Sit down. Usually, the servants aren’t around at night,” Jiang Shangwan said as she brewed a cup of hand-ground coffee and asked him, “Do you want some?”
“Can you still sleep after drinking coffee this late?” Shi Yu replied, then added, “Yes, I want some.”
Jiang Shangwan thought he didn’t want it, but was surprised by how quickly he changed his mind and laughed teasingly, “So, do you want it or not?”
“I want it. Whatever you drink, I want to try too.”
So the two of them each held a steaming cup of coffee and sat opposite each other. On the white marble-patterned coffee table lay a silver irregular-shaped ornament, looking like a mutated trophy.
“What’s this?”
“A feng shui ornament, to balance the feng shui energy, to supplement metal,” Jiang Shangwan said leisurely as she took a small sip, clearly enjoying it. Her whole body sank into the elastic sofa backrest, her expression calm.
At home, she was softer and more relaxed than outside.
Shi Yu’s slender index finger fiddled with the ornament a couple of times, as if studying its structure, then quickly put it back.
The brown leather sofa faced a huge flat-screen TV. Jiang Shangwan pressed the power button. Rarely feeling this good, she sensed that besides the new source of warmth between them, the cold house itself seemed to gain a fresh temperature.
Those previously surging feelings of loneliness were silently smoothed away.
“What do you want to watch?” Jiang Shangwan casually browsed the movie guide, there were no new releases that interested her. “Anything’s fine. You can cast it to the screen.”
She expected him to think about some classic film, but unexpectedly, he quickly selected a variety show, casually clicking on an episode. The fixed NPCs’ laughter and joyful voices flowed through the screen to their ears.
“Rare chance to relax. No need to be so serious,” Shi Yu said.
Jiang Shangwan was slightly stunned, but soon her brows relaxed. She rarely watched variety shows, but after watching for a while, she found it surprisingly uplifting.
At some point, Shi Yu leaned close beside her, like a clingy cat, quietly pressing against her without a sound.
Jiang Shangwan naturally wrapped her arms around his lean waist and nestled into his embrace.
He kissed her ear lobe repeatedly, sending a gentle ticklish sensation. Even though he had just had some invigorating coffee, she gradually felt sleepiness creeping in and began to doze off, nearly falling asleep in his arms.
“Want to go to the bedroom to sleep?”
“Not showered yet,” Jiang Shangwan said coquettishly, lazily tugging at the corner of his shirt. “Too lazy to move.”
Shi Yu stood up and lifted her by the waist. Seeing her delicate face pressed closely against his chest, he felt waves of tenderness and pity: “I’ll carry you over. Where’s the bathroom?”
Jiang Shangwan quietly gave directions. The villa was very large, and it was quite a walk from the living room to her private bathroom. But Shi Yu held her arm firmly without any sign of fatigue, walking steadily step by step until he placed her beside the bathtub and helped adjust the hot water.
Jiang Shangwan looked at the boy’s broad yet lean and upright back. As he bent over, his shirt tightened with his movements, outlining his body clearly. His flexible waist was surprisingly slender. His simple black pants wrapped his long, strong legs. Such a pleasing sight—but here he was, preparing water for her bath.
A complex feeling welled up inside her, mingling desire with a tender softness, leaving a bittersweet sensation deep in her heart.
Shi Yu then went to the cabinet to get a towel and bath salts for her. “Where’s your sleepwear? I’ll get it.”
After he fetched the sleepwear and hung it aside, she beckoned him over, wrapped her arms around his neck, and softly said, “Are you going to help me wash?”
Shi Yu turned his head slightly and whispered, “Don’t tease me.”
Jiang Shangwan guided his hand to her waist. She was still wearing the stained long dress. Then she slowly slid his hand upward until it touched the somewhat rigid outline of her underwear beneath the dress, and whispered in his ear, “Help me undo it, okay?”
Although they had done more intimate things not long ago, back then it was dimly lit and the hazy night concealed everything. Now, the bright and hot white ceiling light exposed every hint of their closeness and teasing.
Shi Yu’s throat tightened. He gently closed his eyes and carefully pulled down the zipper of her dress at the back, then pressed the clasp of her bra.
But his two hands were very clumsy and nervous. The more anxious he got, the more flustered he became. No matter how he tried, he couldn’t undo it.
Jiang Shangwan laughed again. She found him adorably inexperienced and teased him, “Have you never undone another woman’s buttons before? You’re so unskilled.”
In the long awkward silence, when Shi Yu finally managed to undo it, he couldn’t help but let out a small sigh of relief. He turned his gaze away and lowered his head. “I’ve never touched another woman’s hand before, so how would I know how to undo a clasp?”
Jiang Shangwan rewarded him with a kiss on his flushed cheek. “So good, really great.” Seeing that he still stood frozen, she chuckled lightly, “Do you want to watch me take off my clothes?”
Shi Yu, looking a bit embarrassed, stood up and left to sit properly in the living room. After an unknown amount of time, she came out wearing light blue silk pajamas and slippers, wiping her damp hair with a towel.
Her features were beautiful and striking, her thick curls accentuating her small face and making her features even more prominent when wet. Even in casual homewear, her captivating aura couldn’t be hidden.
Her usual makeup was actually very light. It was just that her naturally deep facial contours made her look stunning with makeup. Without it, there wasn’t much difference—only that her lips lost their bright color and reverted to a softer pale pink, adding a gentle touch.
Jiang Shangwan casually rubbed the dripping ends of her hair and glanced out of the corner of her eye to see Shi Yu staring at her, somewhat dazed.
She mischievously turned her back to him to hide herself, unaware that his gaze naturally followed downward to the smooth curves, his eyes burning even more intensely.
Shi Yu reached out and took over as she was about to turn on the hairdryer. “Let me help you.”
His long fingers ran through her wet hair gently, as if afraid of hurting her, carefully smoothing out the tangles. The warm air swept slowly from top to bottom.
When her hair was half dry, Jiang Shangwan asked him to stop and apply some hair treatment oil. After he finished, her hair gleamed with a delicate, glossy shine. Jiang Shangwan looked at herself in the mirror while Shi Yu’s hands passed through her fluffy hair, his pale skin sharply contrasting with her dark hair.
She sighed softly to herself. He truly possessed this magical ability that made her constantly daydream.
